Enterprise sQ complete Stereo3D workflow

Quantel's world-leading Enterprise sQ server based production system supports Stereo3D content right through the pipeline from ingest to desktop editing and craft editing to playout. This development delivers the same great Quantel Enterprise sQ workflow that is relied on by so many broadcasters around the world, but now for the first time working with Stereo3D content.

Stereo3D Recording

Stereo3D recordsQ Server ingests Stereo3D (left eye and right eye) as Stereo clips under the control of the sQ Record application. Stereo clips are recorded in DVCPRO HD using 100 Mbit for each eye. An H.264 browse copy is created simultaneously to allow frame accurate editing using desktop editors.

Stereo3D input ports can be configured to automatically invert or reverse either eye from a mirror rig, saving time by removing the need to manually flip the image in an editor.

The clip will appear in the server bin as a Stereo clip - complete with a new stereo icon. Stereo clips and conventional clips can co-exist on the same server.

Stereo3D Desktop Editing

sQ View and sQ Cut provide low cost shot selection and simple editing tools. As both left and right eye browse is created by the sQ, operators can monitor each eye to check for mismatches.

Stereo3D Craft Editing

Stereo3D timelineA new Stereo3D craft editor is available to provide a comprehensive toolset for manipulating 3D. The craft editor supports side-by-side, top-and-bottom and line-interleave multiplexing modes. It also supports checkerboard and flicker display modes for even more Stereo3D flexibility.

Stereo3D Output

The sQ server can play out separate left and right eye channels or multiplex them together onto a single HDSDI stream.
